The Facts
Umair paints a picture of England pre-Brexit that’s as quaint and rosy and The Great British Bake-off, but is a far cry from the reality of the last thirty years. He says it was a “gentle, intelligent, warm, friendly, and wealthy society.”
However, I’m not sure what period exactly Umair is talking about: before, or after the all-time peak in violent crime that happened in 1995?
There are only two explanations how someone could look at a downward trajectory of crime from historic highs to historic lows and think “God, this country’s going to shit!” Either you’re reading the graph upside-down, or your getting your ideas…
